Nothing like good food, drinks and location to clear one's head. At the heart of Herzliya Pituach, Sebastian is almost hidden, but once you found the door, it led to a large foyer and a side veranda, where we dined.

We started with a toast of cocktails – bitter Negroni made of Campari gin vermouth and an orange peel for me, and for him – fruity Apricatoni made with whipped egg yolk and a sprinkle of cinnamon. As we started I was trying to decide between the two types of sashimi, a problem that was resolved by a double order: the tuna sashimi was served in chili sauce and green onions and Asian flavor; the grouper version was served on yellow pepper sauce with mint and coriander that gave it a fresh Mediterranean touch.

My partner too was having difficulties, as he tried to decide which meat starter he should have. He too resolved this by ordering two first courses. One was a fun dish of home cured bresaola with spicy-sweet mustard sauce and mini-toasts. But then came the daily special, which was really special. The simply entitled "bone marrow" dish was really an impressive plate of four bone marrow soldiers, oven baked with spice herbs, served on eggplant and garlic puree, where the concentrated meat flavor merged with the accented grilled eggplant taste. "Put this on your regular menu", we advised our waitress. Guaranteed success.

Sebastian's menu does the word Fusion a whole lot of good. It is reasonably varied, with some special main pasta dishes, 3-4 seafood and fish offers, and different kinds of meat and chicken. My partner ordered the pork chop steak with chili-honey sauce, while I chose the lamb kebab with burnt tomatoes, onions and tahini. We enjoyed this with some more alcohol, of course.

This was no time to count calories; we had to have desserts. Sebastian's classic creme brulee was served with sour amarena cherries that gave it a special taste. Profiteroles were served with sliced dates and mango and white chocolate tuile – both ended this meal magnificently.
