Beach Restaurants 2eat Editorial
It's time to take off your shoes, wear your sunglasses and give in to the sound of the waves. Israel's sea shore offers a variety of restaurants, not all of which have plastic chairs and sticky beer. Here are three.
The Jack, Ashkelon

Let's start in the south. The city of Ashkelon's veterans are all familiar with the boat resembling construction that The Jack has given life to. With wood decoration, big windows overlooking the sea, high ceiling and big, spacious bar, the beach bar and restaurant has a pirate feel to it. The Jack is a good place for music fans (blues, rock, country plus a great sound system), food fans and alcohol fans. Tuesday nights are open mike nights, on Fridays "Kabalat Shabbats" are held with acoustic guitars, and every once in a while the owners' favorite performers come in to put on a show. On the menu you'll find a variety of burgers as well as special requests consideration.

Karas, Bat Yam

Karas is located in the city of Bat Yam beautiful new esplanade. Karas specializes in special Italian and Japanese dishes, while presenting a variety of fresh meat and fish. The prices are fair, and the culinary experience can be upgraded if you choose to sit at the open side of the restaurant, on the wooden platform, under the open skies. On the menu you'll find stuffed calamari, spring chicken yakitori, salmon or cordon blue, various salads, pasta and meat dishes, as well as an alcoholic bar with local and global wines.

Yam 7, Herzliya

It's practically impossible not to like Herzliya's beach, and the same can be said about Yam 7. It's located on the beach right in front of the water, offering good yet casual service. The menu fits any hour of the day: you can have a stimulating breakfast, easy lunch, or wine and tapas dishes as the sun comes down. The butter shrimp, Indian Fallafel and crispy calamari are all recommended. All of these can be washed with a nice bottle of wine, and you'll be sure to have fun.
