Why be a Slave on Passover
Why be a Slave on Passover
After answering the year's most difficult question: 'Should I host this year's seder?' we must then ready ourselves for the main event – preparing the holiday meal. We were 'slaves in Egypt' (that supermarket check-out line is only getting longer) and we wandered for 40 years around the desert (another traffic jam on the Ayalon freeway), don't we deserve a little rest? Israel's top delis and restaurants will free you from slavery, allowing you to bring home a ready-made seder.
Hamisada Hayehudit (The Jewish Restaurant)
The Jewish Restaurant is continuing a tradition of quality Jewish food that is Mehadrin kosher. In honour of the holiday, The Jewish Restaurant welcomes you to buy your 'seder' just before the holiday. You can create a full and festive Passover meal according to your budget and preferences. Dishes include: a selection of salads – beet (NIS 44 per liter), Chinese (NIS 44 per liter), haroset (NIS 25 for 250gr), and white horseradish (NIS 38 for 150gr); fish and starters – gefilte fish (NIS 86 for 5 portions), carp (NIS 105 for 5 portions), and sole (NIS 106 for 5 portions); mains: piquant chicken breast (NIS 100 for 5 portions), brisket (NIS 104 for 5 portions), and spring chicken steak (NIS 118 for 5 portions); soups – chicken (NIS 40 for 6 portions), vegetable (NIS 46 for 6 portions), and noodle (NIS 33 for 1/2 a liter); sides – carrot tzimmes (NIS 40 per liter) and roasted potatoes (NIS 40 per liter); dessert – fruit compote (NIS 50 per liter) and almond cake (NIS 40 per tray).
It is highly recommended to order in advance, but there is also an option of buying ready made food on the holiday eve.
