Tel Aviv Gillette Marathon 2012, Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa: The biggest international sports event in Israel will be held on Friday – 30/3/12

The Municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa announces the Marathon Festival: The Tel Aviv Gillette Marathon will be a festival of attractive events throughout the city:
-Musical stages spread along the routes
-Pampering collaborations with cafés and restaurants
-Family picnic area and activities in Rabin Square
-After-Marathon party at Charles Clore Park, with leading DJs in the Tel Aviv scene

** In 2010, the municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa set the marathon dates for upcoming years. Marathons will be held on the following dates:
15 March 2013, 4 April 2014, 27 March 2015

From 22/3 to 28/3, Israel's sports and health festival will be held in Rabin Square, during which kits will be handed out to participants.


25,000 runners and 100,000 supporters and participants are expected to take part in this year's Tel Aviv Gillette Marathon, the biggest and leading international sports event in Israel, that will be held on Friday, 30/3/2012.

The marathon, considered one of the leading professional marathons, has become a tradition, and is one of the major international events in Tel Aviv – Jaffa. This year, it is expected to break the Israeli record with more than 25,000 runners. More than 15,000 runners have already registered and guaranteed their participation.

This year, runners are offered a unique urban route, that will pass through all of the city's central streets with the goal of providing the tens of thousands of runners and supporters with a unique running experience that will include the city's most attractive sites and streets, such as: Dizzengof street, Rothschild Boulevard, Azrieli Towers, Sarona complex, Ramat Hahayal, Rabin Square and more.

This year there will be 7 running routes at varying degrees of difficulty, including a special 420 meter long run for children and popular 4.2 kilometer route "I can do it" enabling thousands of runners of all ages and levels to participate in different heats.
